Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data VistaGamble collects, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It covers vistagamble.com and the emails we send you.
ποΈ Key Takeaways
- You can read everything on VistaGamble without an account and without giving us any personal data.
- We use analytics and marketing cookies only if you allow them, and you can change your choice at any time under Cookie Settings in the footer.
- We never sell your personal data.
- If you send us a complaint, your name, your casino username and the email address of your casino account are never published, and neither are the files you send with it or with a private message.
- You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data by writing to contact@vistagamble.com.
ποΈ Who looks after your data
We are VistaGamble LTD, the company behind this site, registered in Malta with our headquarters in North Macedonia. We are responsible for the personal data collected here, which makes us its "controller" under data protection law.
If you have a question about this policy or your data, email us at contact@vistagamble.com.
π₯ What we collect, and why
What we collect depends on what you do on VistaGamble. Simply reading pages tells us very little, and we only learn more when you open an account, write a review, file a complaint, sign up for alerts or contact us.
Each part below covers one of these situations, so you can go straight to the ones that apply to you.
When you visit the site
Like every website, our server records the IP address, browser and page of each request, to keep the site running and secure. These server logs are deleted after 14 days.
If a page fails, we record the full details of that request so we can find and fix the fault. These error reports can include your IP address, your browser, your account, and what you entered on the page.
Only our team can read them. Our site runs behind Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and delivers it quickly.
On our sign-up form, casino reviews, the contact form and email alert sign-ups, a Cloudflare check confirms you are a person and not a bot.
Analytics and marketing, only with your permission
If you allow analytics, we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to learn which pages people read, so we can fix what does not work. If you allow marketing, we also measure whether a visit came from one of our campaigns.
If you refuse, none of these load. See "Cookies" below.
When you click through to a casino
When you follow one of our links to a casino, we record the click: the casino, the time, your IP address and country, your browser, the page you came from, and the technical details your browser sends with the request. We use these records to count clicks, to prevent fraud and to match the commissions casinos pay us.
The casino can see that you arrived from VistaGamble.
Your account
To create an account, you give us your email address and a password. We store the password only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into it.
If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us, and we never see your Google password. Your account also holds a public display name and avatar, both of which you can change in your account settings.
We record the date of your last sign-in. Your favourite games are private, so only you can see them.
Reviews and ratings
When you review a casino or rate a slot, we publish your review, your rating, your display name and your avatar. Your email address is never shown.
Our team reads reviews and comments before they appear. A slot rating without a comment appears straight away.
Complaints
When you send us a complaint, you give us your first and last name, your casino username and the email address of your casino account, the amount in dispute, your country, a description of the problem, and any files you upload as evidence.
If we publish your complaint, the public sees the description, the amount, your country, its status, your display name, and the messages you do not mark as private, with any files attached to them. The files you send with your complaint, and with private messages, are kept in private storage that only you and our team can open.
We tell the casino about your complaint so it can reply, either through its representative's account on VistaGamble or by email. Messages you mark as private are seen only by you and our team.
Email alerts and the newsletter
If you ask to be told when a casino changes its terms, we store your email address, the casinos you follow, the IP address and browser you signed up from, to prevent abuse. We email you a link to confirm first.
Every alert has a link to unsubscribe in one click. If you join our newsletter, we store your email address, the IP address and browser you signed up from.
The contact form
When you write to us through the contact form, we store your name, email address, message, the IP address and browser you sent it from, so we can reply and stop spam.
πͺ Cookies
We use cookies that the site needs to work, such as the one that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, the one that protects forms against forged requests, and the one that remembers your cookie choice for six months. A few others are removed within minutes, for example the ones used while you sign in with Google. These are always on.
Analytics and marketing cookies, set by Google, are used only if you allow them in our cookie banner. Our Cookie policy has more detail.
βοΈ Why we are allowed to use your data
- To run your account, publish your reviews and handle your complaints, because you asked us to (performance of a contract).
- For analytics, marketing, email alerts and the newsletter, because you agreed (consent). You can withdraw it at any time.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and spam, keep click records and tell a casino about a complaint, because we have a legitimate interest in doing so, and we keep it to what is needed.
- To meet legal obligations, for example accounting records.
π€ Who else sees your data
We share personal data only with the services that run the site for us, and only as much as each one needs:
- Our hosting provider, which runs our server and database.
- Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the site, runs our bot check and stores uploaded files.
- Google, for sign-in if you choose it, and for analytics and marketing only if you allow them.
- Our email delivery provider, which sends account emails and alerts.
- The casino named in your complaint, as described above.
We may also share data when the law requires it, for example with a court or the police. Some of these services, such as Google and Cloudflare, process data outside the European Economic Area.
They protect it with safeguards approved for such transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
ποΈ How long we keep it
- Server logs: 14 days.
- Database backups: 14 days.
- Your account, reviews and ratings: until you ask us to close your account. Published reviews may stay on the site without your name.
- Complaints and their files: for as long as we need them to handle the complaint and keep a record of it.
- Click records: for as long as we need them to match commissions with casinos and to check for fraud.
- Contact form messages: for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
- Error reports: for as long as we need them to find and fix faults on the site.
- Email alert and newsletter sign-ups: we stop emailing you as soon as you unsubscribe, and keep a record of your sign-up and your unsubscribe. Unconfirmed alert sign-ups: kept as a record of the request, and never used to send you alerts.
β Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you and send you a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong.
- Delete your data, or close your account.
- Stop or limit how we use it, or object to it.
- Move your data to another service.
You can withdraw your consent at any time: use Cookie Settings in the footer, or the unsubscribe link in any email. To use any other right, write to contact@vistagamble.com.
We reply within 7 business days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner, or to the data protection authority in your own country.
πΆ Our rule on under-18s
VistaGamble is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
π How we protect your data
The whole site uses an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled form.
Files you send with a complaint or a private message are kept in private storage. Only the members of our team who need personal data to do their job can see it.
π Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the way we use personal data changes. The date on this page shows the latest version.
If a change matters to you, we will say so on the site or by email.
π Conclusion
We collect only what the site needs to work, plus what you choose to share with us, and we are open about every piece of it. If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold about you, one email to contact@vistagamble.com is all it takes.
