Brango Casino May Ask Players for Proof Their Bets Were Not Low Risk Before Paying Out

Worse for players

Slightly Negative

Brango Casino's AML and KYC policy lets it request a receipt showing proof of non-low-risk betting before any withdrawal is processed, when a deposit has not been played through in full, when bets appear to guarantee a profit whatever the outcome, or when all the wagering is judged low risk. A withdrawal with no gaming activity at all has its funds blocked until an investigation ends and may incur a fee of up to 10% of the deposit. Verification may require both sides of an ID with a selfie holding it, and both sides of every deposit card with a selfie holding the card. What counts as low risk is the casino's judgement, and proving otherwise falls to the player.

What this means for players

Brango Casino's AML/KYC policy has two parts: a KYC section on the data collected and the documents that may be requested, and an anti-money-laundering section on when the casino may suspend an account, void transactions or hold a withdrawal. Most of it also appears in the casino's general terms, and where the two differ this page uses the milder wording.

  • Proof of betting before a withdrawal. "If the value of a made deposit is not played through in full before a withdrawal is requested, or if there is any evidence of a series of placed bets/wagers which result in guaranteed player profits irrespective of the outcome, or where all the betting/wagering is determined to be low risk, Company reserves the right to request a receipt showing proof of betting/wagering with non-low risk, before any withdrawal may be processed." What counts as low risk is the casino's call, and producing the proof is the player's job.
  • No gaming activity means blocked funds and up to 10%. "Players who deposit and attempt to withdraw without any gaming activity recorded will have their funds blocked until proper investigations have been concluded. Such withdrawals may incur a processing fee of up to 10% of the deposited amount." No time limit is set on the investigation, so the block lasts as long as the casino takes.
  • Accounts closed and transactions voided at sole discretion. The casino reserves the right to suspend or permanently deactivate any account at any time, and to cancel or void transactions at its sole discretion, when any of five conditions applies. They include a breach of any rule in these terms, the general terms or a game's rules, and the use of robots, external programs or mathematical techniques that distort normal gameplay. A single broken game rule is enough to let the casino void transactions on the account.
  • Two selfies on the document list. Account verification may require both sides of an ID, driving licence or passport and a selfie holding it. Card verification may require both sides of every card used to deposit, a utility bill or a bank statement, and a selfie holding the card. The documents are requested at the first withdrawal and may be requested again at random intervals. The privacy page lists four documents and no selfie, so a player who prepared from it would arrive two photos short.
  • A false chargeback may freeze the balance. "Invalid or false chargeback requests may result in permanent account deactivation and freezing of available funds." The general terms say that in that case the casino will deactivate the account and freeze any available funds. The same chargeback is a possibility on this page and a certainty in the general terms.
  • Correspondence is not for forums. "All email and other communication or correspondence between you and the Casino is private and not for distribution or publication on Internet forums." The line appears in all three Brango Casino documents that deal with personal data, this one, the privacy page and the general terms.
  • The sentence this page leaves out. The anti-money-laundering section of the general terms adds that a decision to void transactions or close an account needs no justification, and that in those circumstances the casino may also withhold or retain any and all amounts otherwise payable to the player. Neither appears here. A player reading the dedicated AML page sees the account closure, and only the general terms show the balance can go with it.

The page asks the player for a lot of evidence: two selfies, both sides of every card, a utility bill and, on request, a receipt for their own betting. Its softer verbs, may freeze and may incur, are hardened in the general terms, which also add the right to keep the balance.
