Ice Casino's KYC Policy applies Standard Verification once a player's total transactions reach USD/EUR 1000, and its fourth trigger carries no number at all: verification also applies "In other cases, when the personnel of the Company consider the Verification as a necessary measure." A check can ask for an ID document, a photo of the card with the cardholder's name visible, a photo of the player holding the documents, a photo holding a handwritten note with the registration email, date and a confirmation code, and a call that may be a video call. Opposing a phone or video call is listed among the signs of suspicious activity that go to the antifraud department, and the policy accepts no payments from cryptocurrencies or anonymous wallets. The 1,000 sets when checks must start, not when they may.

What this means for players

Ice Casino's KYC Policy has nine sections and follows the risk-based approach of the Financial Action Task Force. It sets a monetary trigger for verification, lists what a check can demand, names the behaviour it treats as suspicious and rules out anonymous payment methods.

  • Four triggers, one of them open. Standard Verification applies when a user's total transactions on the website reach or exceed USD/EUR 1000, when the risk assessment finds a significant money-laundering or terrorist-financing risk, when behaviour suggests a breach of the terms, and "In other cases, when the personnel of the Company consider the Verification as a necessary measure." The threshold tells a player when checks must start, and the last trigger lets them start at any point.
  • A document list that ends on an open item. The policy says the company shall ask for a copy or photo of an ID document, a photo of the payment card and a photo of the user bearing the documents. In some situations it adds proof of address, a bank statement, a letter from the workplace or a tax assessment notice, and the list also includes a photo of the user holding a handwritten note with the registration email, the date of the request and a confirmation code. Its last line is "Other documents or data, that may be required by the particular situation." A player cannot tell from the policy where the list stops.
  • Opposing a call is a warning sign. The company may ask a user to contact the Support Team by call, including a video call, and the suspicious-activity list in section 6 includes principal opposition to any phone or video call and not providing a photo holding the ID document on request. Suspicious cases are directed to the antifraud department. Objecting to a video call on principle is listed as a signal, not treated as a choice.
  • Source of wealth, with its own discretionary trigger. Politically exposed persons, their family members and residents of jurisdictions listed by the European Commission or the FATF face additional verification, which requires documents on the source of wealth and final approval by senior management. The same section adds "C) In other cases, when the Company considers this procedure as a necessary measure." The proof-of-wealth step, like the first check, can be applied to a player outside every listed category.
  • No crypto, no third-party cards. "The Company does not accept payments from the anonymous payment instruments (cryptocurrencies, anonymous wallets etc.)." A card must carry the account holder's name, and the policy adds: "It means that any usage of third-party payment card is prohibited." An e-wallet must use the email the account was registered with. Every payment route has to lead back to the player's own name or email.
  • Two documents, two ways of counting 1,000. This policy counts the total of a player's transactions towards USD/EUR 1000. Ice Casino's Refund Policy names its own trigger: an identification procedure when a requested withdrawal exceeds one thousand US dollars. One measures a running total, the other a single withdrawal, so a player cannot tell from the documents which figure starts the check.
  • Changes by email, accepted by use. "This Policy may be modified or amended at any time, at the sole discretion of the Company." Registered users are notified by email, and "Any continued usage of the Website after the notification has been sent shall be considered as a fact that user have read and accepted the changes to the Policy." Acceptance starts with the next visit after the email, with no waiting period.

The policy is specific about documents and about what it treats as suspicious. Where it stays open is the trigger: a stated amount starts the check, but so does the judgement of the people running it.
