VeloBet Cancels Player Funds If Certified ID Misses a Five-Day Deadline

Worse for players

Very Negative

VeloBet's refund policy gives players five (5) days to produce certified identification on request. If it isn't supplied in that window, the policy states all user funds are cancelled and the account closed — a decision it explicitly says is not subject to appeal. VeloBet's own KYC policy never uses the word "certified": it asks only for a copy of an ID or passport and a recent proof of residence, through an automated process. Refunds carry further cost: VeloBet may apply a 20% administrative fee plus any accrued processing fees, at the company's sole discretion. Refund requests must themselves be made within 14 days of the transaction, or 30 days where a player alleges someone else accessed their account.

What this means for players

VeloBet's refund policy sets a five-day clock that can cost a player their entire balance. The policy states that users are obliged to present certified identification within five (5) days of a request, and that if the documentation is not provided in that window, all user funds are cancelled and the account is closed. It adds that this decision is not subject to appeal.

  • "Certified" is never defined, and VeloBet's own KYC policy does not use the word. That document describes an automated verification process requiring a copy of an ID or passport and a proof of residence — a bank statement or utility bill no older than three months — and asks for nothing notarised or officially stamped. A player facing the five-day deadline has no stated way to know which standard applies: the plain copies the KYC policy requests, or the "certified" documents the refund policy demands under threat of losing their balance. The stricter word appears only in the clause carrying the harshest penalty. For comparison, the same KYC policy allows VeloBet up to 48 hours to complete verification once it has the documents.
  • The clock is not the player's to start. The five days run from VeloBet's request rather than from any player action, so the window can open at a moment the player does not control — and the removal of appeal rights leaves no stated route to contest the outcome with the operator afterwards.
  • Refunds are chargeable. The policy places all costs of the refund procedure on the player, and states these may include — at the sole discretion of the Company — an administrative fee of 20%, plus any and all fees accrued during processing. The 20% is written as a discretionary maximum the operator may apply, not a fee charged on every refund.
  • Eligibility is time-boxed on both ends. A refund must be requested within 14 days of the transaction, extending to 30 calendar days where a player alleges another individual accessed their account. No refund is available once the deposit or associated bonuses have been played, which is standard across the sector.

The practical effect is that verification should be completed at registration rather than on request, with a proof of residence dated within the last three months kept available — the five-day window assumes documents are already obtainable at short notice. Refund requests go through Live Chat or support@velobet.com.

On 1 September 2026 VeloBet inserted a new Clause 8, Dormant Accounts, into general terms that previously had no dormancy rule at all. An account not logged into or out of for 60 consecutive days is deemed inactive, and the company reserves the right to charge a monthly administrative fee of 20% of the balance recorded on the day inactivity was determined, debited at the start of every following month until the balance reaches zero or the player logs in. Because the fee is fixed at a fifth of the starting balance rather than the shrinking one, five deductions empty the account. Where the remaining balance is below the equivalent of 10 in any currency, the company reserves the right to take 100% of it as a final fee.

VeloBet's general terms (version 07/03/2025) apply a 20% deduction in four separate places: withdrawals requested before the deposit has been wagered once (Clause 12), deposits refunded when an account is terminated (Clause 12), deposits settled after a shared payment account is detected (Clause 12, and the deposits are seized outright if valid details are not supplied within 7 days), and deposits refunded to players identified as Georgian (Clause 3). Bonus winnings are capped at 10x the deposit and any single spin or bet pays at most €100,000. With withdrawals stopped at €7,500 a week and €15,000 a month, the largest win the terms allow would arrive in seven monthly instalments.
